SAA Club Spotlight - Monklands A C January 2024
Hi All,
Up for a club vote Saturday 9th Nov 2024.
Scottish archery have asked if we would like to spotlight Monklands AC as a feature on the SAA website in January, this is an opportunity to bring focus to the clubs providence, what we do, and our values.
Also, It's a good way to raise the clubs public profile.
See you all on Saturday.

Field Captains ~ SAA Email
Hello All,
I hope you all have enjoyed the outdoor season and now looking forward to the Indoor.
I am contacting you all today to let you know that the Scottish Ranking Events are being relaunched now. These events allow club archers to gain some competition experience with in their club, during club time and at no extra cost. The added benefit is that your scores will go to the Scottish Rankings !
With this in mind I am now looking at recruiting Field Captains to oversee these events. I know some of you have previously put your names forward but as I am taking this on I would like to start afresh. So please could you register your interest by replying to this email (events@scottisharchery.org.uk) by Monday 23rd September. There will be an initial on line meeting then a short online training session. Ideally I would be looking for at least two people per club.
I look forward to supporting you all with this exciting venture should you wish to proceed.
Kind Regards
Fiona

WOSAA County Records
Hello Archers
Over the past few weeks, we have been looking at how we can start WOSAA county records. We decided, as there were no official records, to take the West archers from the SAA's current records.
These are now live on our new website. westofscotlandarcheryassociation.co.uk there is also a claim form on there for any future claims.
To claim a WOSAA record you must be a member of a WOSAA club at the time of the competition. The competition must be SRS, UKRS, or WRS.
Any questions please ask.
Thanks

The beginners course section on the about page has been updated,
https://monklandsarcheryclub.azurewebsites.net/Home/About
A new automated way of collecting personal details for beginner course queries has been implemented into our web site using google forms, any member of the public can now easily register for a beginner course, also it is a fairer way to allocate beginner slots as we operate on a first come first serve basis.

Archery Big Weekend - Have a go day with Monklands Archery Club
About this event
Adults and children (12+) are invited to try their hand at archery at Monklands Archery Club on Saturday July 10 2021 1pm - 3pm at the Coatbridge out door sports centre Langloan St, Coatbridge ML5 1HH.
This fun and inclusive sport is perfect for anyone wanting to try something new - on their own or with their family and friends - even those who have never picked up a bow before will be able to enjoy the feeling of achievement as an arrow hits the target!
The Big Week / Big Weekend is an annual event organised by Archery GB in partnership with The Archery Shop for archery clubs across the UK in order to encourage more people to have a go at archery.
Events will be run within the latest Have a Go event Covid guidance from Archery GB. Visitors of all ages and abilities will be able to have a go at the sport, which is naturally socially-distanced, often experienced outside and therefore a great option for those who remain understandably cautious as Covid restrictions are gradually lifted.
All archery equipment will be provided at event, therefore anyone interested in starting archery just needs to book a slot and come along to find out more for themselves. Attendees aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that this event will be weather permitting - do remember to dress accordingly.
Tickets are for visitors only..., here is the link for event brite booking.
